If discounts are higher and offered in an optics, where you have never been, so be really careful. Of course, not always there is a rub, but unfortunately there it often is.

Like clothes, sunglasses and eyeglass frames also subject to fashion trends and designers and manufacturers come with new collections each season. Recently, you certainly often meet with the fact that some optics offer eyeglass lenses with 50% discount or you can get them even for free when buying an eyeglass frame. When buying eyeglass lenses be very careful and check well, what you are buying. If a discount on lenses is more than 20 - 30%, mostly there is the rub. It should be noted, that eyeglass lenses are the largest source of income for most of optics. If they give you 50% discount, so eyeglasses are sold without any profit, even at a loss.

And here the question arises, how they can venture it. The answer in most cases is -  they can not.

There are two reasons, why some optics are capable to offer such discounts and even have a profit of it. The first is, that the original price of eyeglass lenses is too overstated and vendors rely on a customer's satisfaction, when receiving a significant discount. And in fact, customer is not interested in an ultimate price. Although it does not seem, but there are many of such customers. In this case it is good to find out the price of cerain eyeglass lenses in another optics. You often find, that the price of the same lenses without a discount is almost identical or only slightly higher than in an optics, where you were offered a big discount. It applies the same as when buying sunglasses or eyeglass frames.

The second reason is, that eyeglass lenses of a very poor quality are offered in discounts. Such eyeglass lenses have very low purchase prices and a vendor gives a huge margins on them. In this case, you can really save a considerable amount on lenses, but there is a question, whether after a few days you do not go to buy new eyeglasses, because you can not see well through those cheaper one. This can be applied mainly to multifocal lenses.

In this case, it is good to find out the exact name and type of offered lens and mainly of a manufacturer to verify its reliability. Or you can go to some other optics and get more information about a certain type of lenses. In a good optics, they will certainly be able to tell you normal prices of a glass manufacturer and whether the type of eyeglass lenses and manufacturer are quality. It is also true, that if you do not buy eyeglasses in an optics, vendors may will not be willing to offer you such information. There is a competition.

The Internet represents a second possibility, how to check the quality of a eyeglass lenses. There you will find enough information about the product, but mostly about certain manufacturers. If there are not any references about the manufacturer on the Internet, we do not recommend to buy eyeglass lenses.

You are entitled to have a guarantee

Even if you buy discounted goods, especially sunglasses, prescription eyeglasses, cases and other accessories, keep in mind the fact, that regardless of whether goods have 10,20 or 90% discount or are from a new collection or several years old, you are entitled to guarantee. So if goods damage after some time without your intervention and obviously you are entitled to a claim do not allow to put yourself off with words, that goods are from an earlier collection and it was at a significant discount and that is the reason why you are not entitled to a claim.
