Antireflex coating
To avoid unpleasant reflection on the surface of eyeglass lenses, an antireflex coating is applied. This layer can be found on the objectives of microscopes, telescopes or cameras. Antireflex is made of many layers of metal oxides an is applied on the front as well as on the back side of the lens surface. Becasue antireflex contains many layers on top of each other, it has a specific shade of green, purple or golden colour – the colour depends on the manufacturer.
