Even though driving at night represents only about 10 to 20 % of the total time spent behind the wheel, 50% of teenicides happens just at this time. One of the reasons may be the fact, that the human eye naturally reacts to the lack of light at night and becomes slightly myopic. It was the main reason why TAG Heuer company developed Night Vision eyeglasses - special eyeglasses for drivers, that increase safety and comfort while driving at night.

The concept of Night Vision eyeglasses, which was originally designed specially for the needs of profesional automobile racing, allows better vision in the dark and is assigned also for ordinary drivers.

Healthy eye also becomes myopic at the night. It is a physiological eye defect that is expertly called night myopia. Human eye without any eye defects, that sees quite clearly during a day, reacts to the lack of light at night by enlargement of pupils and by a mild moving of focus forward the sharpest vision point creating a “quartering” myopia. Special dioptric lens Night Vision (-0,25 diopters) is able to correct the visual handicap not only by improving visibility, vigilance and comfort of a driver, but primarily by increasing of his safety, as well as safety of passengers and other road users.

Lenses also have a bilateral antiglare adjusting, which significantly reduces uneasiness of glare coming from opposite vehicles. Another advantage of the Night Vision lenses is a special surface, preventing sedimentation of impurities, so clear and sharp vision is ensured at all times. Sallow cast of lenses, which is in contrast with the dark colours of surroundings and maintains undistorted colour perception, also assists.
